Royal Somethings

Unless you've been hiding under a rock and have refused to turn on your tv for the past week, you've heard at least something on the royal wedding of Kate and Will.  I will call them Kate and Will because we're practically BFFs seeing that I once spent 6 weeks in London, and they are English.

I will have to say I'm amazed at the media coverage of this event.  On Good Morning America, they cut to someone in the studio to discuss the 300 deaths in the States due to recent Tornados, but then cut quickly back to the footage of the wedding.

I didn't wake up at 3 am to watch the wedding.  I did however watch it later as it reaired, and maybe I also watched 3 to 4 hours worth of specials afterwards.  I have for gotten my royal fill, and unless they start showing things from the party, I'm over the media attention of the wedding.  I did however have plenty of thoughts of the whole shebang.

Kate's Dress--I loved.  Very old school Hollywood glam.  Both of her dresses were great.  Her tiara was great.  I'm totally anti tiara's unless you've won a pageant, are voted homecoming queen, or in fact royal.  Other than that, brides should totally stay away from them.   I may or may not be scheming on how to marry royal so I too can rock a tiara on my wedding day.

The Hats--Americans and hats just don't happen unless you are the Kentucky Derby.  Which I've been dying to go to, and I want to go to even more now.  It seems very southern, and very proper.  I will admit some of the hats (shout out to Mrs. Beckham, and Fergie's daughters) were terrible.

The Cake--massive cake.  Massive FRUIT CAKE!!!  Do you know how upset I would be if I showed up to a wedding and received a slice of fruit cake?!  I'd be tempted to throw it.  For real.  Cake is way important to me.  I totally judge a wedding on how the cake tastes.  I will say I'm glad Wills grooms cake is his favorite cake from childhood.  Some kind of chocolate biscuit cake.  I may need to try this.  But I hear it has raisins.  Which remind me of ants.  What's up with the Brits throwing fruit in cakes?

Harry--Whispering to his bro, "wait until you see her" as she walks down the aisle is so stinking cute.  The fact that he is having a drunken breakfast after the reception for all the guests who make it all night, is fun.  He also supplied the DJ.  And he's also by far cuter than Will who is losing his hair.  I like gingers, so sue me.  I do feel as if I need to sit down with Harry and talk about his on again off again girlfriend, Chelsea.  I get it, she's fun.  Harry's the wild child, but seriously.....she's not that cute granted their wedding would be quite interesting.  I can't see the Queen liking her much.

The Queen--When you're the Queen, I guess you don't have to sing the National Anthem of "God Save the Queen"  If Charles or Wills become king, does this mean Queen is changed to King in the song.

I've rambled on.  Congrats if you've made it this far.  I have more thoughts, obviously.  Well a common girl is now a princess.  Lucky Bitch.  Congrats, you can wear tiaras.  (and some other sweet jewlery i'd be requesting to wear that's on display in the Tower of London)
